A membership card is a small thing, but it changes how members feel about a club or gym. It is proof that they belong, a reason to come back, and a simple way for you to recognise them. Here is how to get more from your cards.

A sense of belonging

A well-made card with the member’s name and number feels like a membership, not a receipt. Members are more likely to keep it, show it and talk about it.

Member-only benefits

  • Discounts at the bar, café or club shop
  • Priority booking for classes, courts or events
  • Guest passes for friends
  • Offers from local partner businesses

Print a short list of benefits on the back so members remember to use them.

Faster check-in

Cards with a barcode or contactless chip can be scanned at the front desk, so members get in quickly and you get attendance data. See membership cards with barcodes.

Tiers and milestones

Different card colours for membership levels, or a new card at five or ten years, give members something to aim for.

Renewal reminders

A printed expiry date reminds members to renew. Pair it with an email reminder a few weeks before.

Keep it simple

Loyalty comes from good service; the card makes it visible. See personalised membership cards for clubs for what to print.

Options and prices

Options include QR codes, barcodes, numbering, magnetic stripe, signature panel, contactless chips, hole punch, spot UV, and a matt or gloss finish. Every file is checked and proofed, and nothing is printed until you approve the proof.
